Chris Lofton

Here’s some tournament news that might make the Losers With Socks dudes upset: apparently, shooting wunderkind Chris Lofton slightly injured one of his legs and has been wearing a walking boot because of it. Now, being in Tennessee, wearing boots might seem like normal behavior, but remember, Lofton is supposed to be getting ready for a massive game against the Louisville Cardinals.
Tennessee men’s coach Bruce Pearl said senior guard Chris Lofton was in a protective walking boot Monday, but is expected to play in Thursday’s game in Charlotte, N.C., against Louisville.

I’m not sure if a slightly-hobbled Chris Lofton is the best option when Tennessee is getting ready to face an opponent that uses an attacking style of defense. More importantly, leg injuries, even minor ones that can be played on, can limit a player’s lateral motion. If this is indeed the case, it makes one of Bruce Pearl’s most important players a defensive liability.

Speaking of Bruce Pearl and Rick Pitino, is Bobcats Arena large enough to be able to contain these two coaches? One on side, you have Mack Daddy Bruce Pearl and on the other, you have the Ego that Roared. Whatever. I just hope Bruce wears orange and Pitino wears white. Is that too much to ask?
