Mayo

7:45 – Well, were back… Not sure what happened but there were some technical difficulties here in KC. Apparently, our whole building wasn’t online. Thanks, Time Warner. Anyway, a lot has and is happening. Let’s just jump right in.

7:50 – OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley are at war. I guess the KC media knows what the hell they are talking about. This game has the makings of a damn good one. 10 mins left and it’s a 1-point game. It’s like watching an NBA Draft workout.

7:55 – Yes, I know about Duke but that freaking outing has got me back-pedaling. OK. The question is, can Belmont keep the game like this? (I have both games on. Anymore than that, and I’ll sprain something…)

K-State has pulled ahead again…. USC doesn’t stop them very well. Too many turnovers for the Trojans as well.

8:05 – Washington State is beating Winthrop like they stole something… In further news, if K-State holds on, they’ll be the first lower seed to win today. It isn’t March until the first upset happens. Although, K-State beating USC is an upset in seeding only.

8:07 – Maybe Belmont heard me. They are down by 1 and they just got fouled. Could it be? Could it BE?

BELMONT BY 1.

8:10 – Beasley has another double-double. Ho-hum. 20-11. Another day at the park for him… I wonder how he looks in Miami Heat red and black?

Last minute in Duke/Belmont. Stay tuned.

8:15 – Gerald Henderson looks like he went from goat to great… Not sure what lob play Belmont was running there.

8:21 – And Duke escapes as K-State rolls USC. Speaking of the Wildcats, say hello to your first low-seed winner of the day. They may be joined by Texas A&M, who lead BYU by for… you know, the game no one was watching while O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley and Duke were playing.

Not sure what the struggle with Belmont says about Duke, but I can tell you Arizona and West Virgina are both salivating at the chance to play them.

8:35 – Josh Carter explodes for A&M as they “upset” BYU. Well, at least Billy Gillispie can take solace in the fact that the team he was primarily responsible for building is going to the second round.
