Shan Foster

We actually get a little break between the second and third stanza. Tonight, we have St. Joe’s/Oklahoma (undoubtedly, the KC game), UNC/Mt. St. Mary’s, Mississippi State/Oregon and Vanderbilt/Sienna, featuring SEC Player of the Year, Shan Foster — our lead image for tonight.

No offense to Psycho-T or whatever the nickname for the hardest working player in basketball’s nickname is…

We’ll be back shortly.

6:16 - Here we are. From the looks of things, Oklahoma and St Joe’s want to get into a shoot-out. Fine with me. Let’s go all Bo Kimble on `em.

6:20 - Julie Chen reminds us with a PSA we are enriched by differences (the more you know)… Not in college basketball. Defined, maybe.

6:28 - 4 minutes into the 1st half and apparently, Vanderbilt has forgotten the SEC POY is on their team… you know, the guy at the top of your screen.

6:32 - Yeah, not so much on that shoot-out… although, St. Joe’s and Oklahoma are trading baskets. It’ll probably be like this the entire game and to be honest, neither team looks long for the Dance.

In other news, Oregon has jumped on MSU early, much like Sienna has done with Vandy. The SEC looks awfully weak right now.

6:44 - Vandy is looking terrible, UNC is scoring on Mt. St. Mary’s but they aren’t playing defense. Apparently, the Commodores have no clue about overcoming road woes. And to think, it’s actually a neutral court.

6:48 - 1st nag screen of the evening. Keep `em coming. I’m not scared.

6:52 - The SEC looks horrible tonight. No defense. At all.

Hey, Carolina is stretching their lead. Surprises are aplenty this evening but for some reason, St. Joe’s decided to quit scoring.

7:09 - The Sienna cheerleaders are pretty hot.

Sienna Cheerleaders

More on this later.

7:13 - Well, Both SEC teams are down double-digits at half. Represent. KC’s just about to go back to Oklahoma/St. Joe’s. I guess the only way Carolina will be newsworthy is if their game becomes close. Doubtful.

I guess Hansbrough could play even harder than he does now. That’d be newsworthy.

7:24 - Yeah this says it all:

Nag

Yay, CBS marketing department.

7:25 - See you later, St. Joe’s.

7:30 - Should Billy Packer be allowed to call ACC games? I thought national announcers were supposed to be impartial. For some reason, KC is still on OK/SJ… Look, I know it’s Big-12, but damn, game’s over. Or it should be if Oklahoma continues to play defense like they have been.

7:45 - Vandy decided to play defense and Mississippi State has too. Why does it take getting your ass handed to you before you do? Stallings and Stansbury might want to look into 1st half motivation.

St. Joe’s tells me to go do something to myself. They’re back within 9.

7:53 - Not so much on the SEC playing extended defense. Sienna (and their hot cheerleaders) are taking control again. MSU won’t get over the hump.

However, the big news is Carolina is going to break 100 points with about 6 minutes left in the game. Lay-up drill?

7:56 - Grrr. I got bumped from CBS. Nag screen got me.

8:00 - I’m thinking of naming my kids Longar Longar. All of them. Maybe one of them will be as tall and athletic as he is.

8:06 - Mississippi State. Doing better than Vandy, but will they continue the Tournament ineptitude?

Yep, lay-up drill. For UNC.

8:09 - Sooze says hi:

Yeah, I’m feeling that. A lot.

8:14 - Vandy had better not use that road record crap to explain this one away. There’s no excuse for coming out this poorly. The Memorial Gym excuse only goes so far.

113 points? Really?

8:22 - So yeah, Vandy’s done, Oklahoma survives St. Joe’s comeback bid and MSU is trying to pull out some kind of win to make the SEC look halfway decent.

Apparently, my images are a jinx tonight. Foster’s great regular season ends with a whimper.

8:26 - Vandy didn’t just lose. They got bitch-slapped.

8:35 - Nice bounce-back win by MSU. On to the last thread.

Ballhype: hype it up! Stumble it!
