Gameday Crew Dances the Dance of John Wall

Here we have ESPN’s College Gameday crew doing the dance that seems to be sweeping the nation: The John Wall Dance. Made famous during Wall’s introduction at Kentucky’s midnight madness celebration, the dance has become a staple for the 2009/10 college basketball season. The proliferation is so complete, the dance could now be considered “uncool.”
A simple YouTube search reveals oodles of John Wall Dance videos, but thanks to the Gameday crew, it’s now apart of mainstream. And as is the case with anything popular, the “uncool” backlash begins.
I, for one, blame Digger Phelps. Once he starts dancing, you just know the “coolness factor” will be reduced exponentially. I mean, damn. How many of us can make dancing with cheerleaders look lame?
While you have to admire his spirit, and give bonus points to Digger’s “good thinking” (dancing with ladies like that is never wrong), I just hope we’ve seen the last of him doing the Dance of John Wall. Save that for deer hunters and Cougartown actors.
