Seth DavisAfter this past weekend of wall-to-wall college basketball, it’s safe to say we are officially in the grips of March Madness, a month-long event that culminates with the Final Four. It’s also safe to say we are going to see a lot of Seth Davis, although I’m not sure why.

I guess Duke towel boys can succeed… or at least be relevant enough to be annoying. Oh well, all the Seth Davises in the world don’t get in the way of entertaining college basketball. Well, not too much, anyway.

Michigan State stomps IU
I’m not sure what happened in East Lansing but the result was the Hoosiers of Indiana getting crushed by the Spartans as Drew Neitzel and crew handed the Hoosiers their worst loss of the season and their 14th straight at East Lansing. The Enlightened Spartan has much more.

UCLA Survives Arizona
While everyone is talking about Michael Beasley, Kevin Love continues to perform like the other best freshman. Bonus: unlike Beasley, Love’s team wins more. Powered by Love’s 24-point, 14-rebound outing, UCLA came one step closer to securing the regular season Pac-10 title.

Tennessee Beats Kentucky
Despite losing their best post player, the Wildcats proved to be a much formidable opponent for the Volunteers than most expected. Alas, the Vols survived, 63-60. RockyTopTalk has more. It was an interesting week for Bruce Pearl’s team. Will they stay at number 1? Considering UNC’s weekend, it’s doubtful.

In Other News (Saturday)
Duke, UNC survive large road deficits, still win… Just in time for the upcoming Duke/UNC rematch. Kansas beat Kansas State, Texas got tripped-up by Texas Tech, Georgetown traveled to Marquette and came out a winner, Stanford dispatched Washington State, Vanderbilt lost to Arkansas, while Purdue, UConn and Drake all won.

As you can see, it’s March time boys and girls. Wall-to-wall college basketball as far as the eye can see. Sign me up, please… even with Seth Davis.

Ballhype: hype it up! Stumble it!

  1. Bryan Rigsby Says:

Suggestion: Turn down the volume on your TV and the volume up on your iPod or CD player or what have yous. Towel Boy is much, MUCH more tolerable when you don’t have to listen to his drivel.
