In football, when you collide head-to-head with another player, there’s a thick layer of plastic and padding protecting you from inflicting immediate damage to your noggin. Not so in basketball. Last night, while Kentucky was finding themselves as a basketball team, their good play was marred by a scary incident when teammates Michael Porter and Ramon Harris clashed heads while hustling for a loose ball.
There is video of the incident, but it looks like it was rendered using only about five or ten pixels. Watch for the collision, which takes place around the free throw line:
According to reports, the results on Harris, who was taken off on a stretcher and hospitalized for the night, were negative. He apparently has complete movement of his extremities and was alert and responsive throughout the night. Over at A Sea of Blue, the always-working Truzenzuzex is keeping an eye on the situation and will have updates as soon as they are available.
Has for Michael Porter, he didn’t require a trip the hospital; although, he did receive a bunch of stitches above his left eye.

I imagine Porter’s eye was about 30 shades of purple when he woke up this morning.

Hey, Chris, thanks for the linkage!
Harris is now back comfortably ensconced in Wildcat Lodge. Porter has a very mild concussion.

Anytime, man. That’s fantastic news about both players; although, I can’t imagine what Porter’s eye looks like today. I imagine he’s wearing some big sunglasses right now.
