CELEBRATE

After their gritty comeback against the Memphis Tigers last night to win their third National Championship, Kansas fans were feeling pretty damn good about the whole thing.

And boy, they weren’t afraid to show the world. All because of Mario Chalmers, your Final Four MOP:

After the game was over, tens of thousands of fans descended on Mass Street to celebrate their victory. Thanks to Lawrence.com, we have some great images and video to share of the peaceful celebration.

Enjoy:

We also have video of the monumental celebration, courtesy of Nathan Borror at vimeo.com.

I guess saying KU fans are happy their team won is, perhaps, an understatement. Congratulations, Jayhawks.

Be sure to thank Chris Douglas-Roberts the next time you see him.

One word….WOW. What a game. KU stuck with it and even though the announcers were going “goo-goo” over Memphis, KU made shots when they needed to. No doubt, Memphis has talented men who will be in the pros, but KU did not give up and they are the National Champs. Rock chalk…Jayhawk.

Countdown to Bill Self riding off into the dollar-rich Okie State sunset in 3, 2, 1…

You’re high if you think he’s going to Ok. State. He is now officially a God in Lawrence. Not only did he beat Roy Williams, but he pulled a completely undeserved national title out of his arse in one of the more exciting finals in recent memory.

And he knows that he would be kicking himself every year, twice a year, when the Jayhawks are laying another 25-point beatdown on the Cowboys.

The allure of being a God in Lawrence should be pretty strong, but we can’t discount what happens when someone throws a a mountain of money at you; more than the school you just cut the nets down for is going to offer.

I think he’ll stay at KU but I also think he’s going to take a long, hard look at the bank account being offered by Pickens.
