Player of the Weak: Greg Paulus and Mike Patrick

There isn’t a lot of love for the Duke Blue Devils outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium and after viewing this video posted by Awful Announcing of Paulus’ actions against Florida State last night, it’s easy to see why:

Of course, ESPN’s Mr. ACC, Mike Patrick, comes to the defense of Paulus like it’s his son out there on the floor. Thank goodness Jay Bilas was there to point out the fact that during the first incident, the Florida State player didn’t do anything that warranted Paulus’ flopping around like a fish out of water. The second incident looked like a result of the match-up getting testy as players were wrestling around for a loose ball.

Naturally, while Patrick is trying to point out the ills of Ryan Reid (”He threw a punch!!!” No Mike, he did not.), Mr Paulus looks like he’s trying to kick another Florida State player. You stay classy, Greg. It kinda sucks being an instigator and getting roughed up as a result, doesn’t it?

Much to Patrick’s delight, Duke wound up beating the Seminoles, 70-57. Mr Irrelevant has more on this very subject.

Deebo says ” get out of my face before I drop you like I did this bitch”. Take your pick on who should get dropped, Paulus or Mike Patrick.

Paulus is just another Wojo. Stop acting! The writers are on strike anyway. It’s not even ESPY worthy. Just finish your career and sit on the bench with Wojo and Johnny Dawkins aka Mr. I”m scared to coach a team on my own.

Speaking of Johnny Dawkins, 8 miles away a guy named Bill Guthridge sat next to Dean Smith for decades. When he finally got the gig, he was too old to coach with longevity. Get a set of balls and prove to people that you are ready to take the reigns when coach Gay is ready to retire. Granted you won’t be waiting like Bill did but this year makes ten for you.

Mike Patrick must be making up for the absence of Packer and Vitale from the game. Because there can never be too much slavish fawning ACC worship from the WWL.

It’s funny to me how he immediately took up for Paulus in both circumstances and it was pretty much immediately after the both fracases started. “He punched Paulus!!!!!!” Goodness, it’s gets tiring.

And X, maybe Johnny doesn’t want the responsibility of running a team (meaning, he can’t handle it)…

  4. Xavier Says:

You might be right but if he can’t handle taking over a team. Why the hell would he want the pressure cooker like Duke? Ask Orlando.

  5. Bobby Says:

Bottom line is Duke rolled FSU. FSU looked completely over matched at times. FSU had no answers for DUKE even when they tried playing tackle.
