College Football Helmet Quiz
July 18th, 2008 at 9:23 amBy Chris

Here’s another little something to tide you over until it’s time for teams like the Tide to roll. I’m talking about college football season, of course. What we have is a neat little quiz (two parts) of 50 football helmets from various schools presented in the Excel format. The first part is probably a little easier than the second and it looks like the helmets were taken from this incredible site, the Helmet Project.
I originally found the quiz in this thread but I think it originated here.
Be sure and post your scores below (48-50 and 45-50 for me) and if you can’t remember what team a certain helmet belongs to, be sure and check out The Helmet Project — although, you are going to have to forgive the frame website presentation. If you know of any other quizzes like this, be sure and share them with me.
Hey, there’s only 42 days until kick-off. Hopefully, the helmet quiz can help the time go by a little faster.

Connecticut is spelled wrong on the quiz- I kept getting it wrong, then tried Conneticut without the second C and it came up right.
50/50 on both quizzes. Thanks a lot it was fun. You could do that with nicknames too.

Hey Brad. Thanks for the comments. I had trouble with the second one and actually had to go to The Helmet Project for help.

I can’t get the link to work. Whenever I click on it, it says it can’t find a program to run it.

The quizzes are Microsoft Excel files. If you don’t have that, you could try downloading them (right-click, save link as) and opening them up in Google Docs.

the quizes are whack. Bowling green is actually Bowling Green State, but it didn’t work. And UAB is Alabama-Birmingham. Connecticut was spelled wrong and Vaderbilt was spelled wrong. There’s a second ‘c’ in the New England state, and no ‘u’ in the Nashville university.
The hardest part about the quizes was figuring out how to spell the wrong names of schools.

For Texas A & M it will only accept Texas AM. I tried it a million other ways but that was the only that works.

I’m shocked that Big Red is joining the Big 10. This upcoming year promises to be interesting. Go Big Red!
