Gators Chomp (BCS Championship)

The Florida Gators are your National Champions–even in the AP … Sorry Utah–thanks to the efforts of Tim Tebow, Florida’s defense, Percy Harvin’s ankle and Oklahoma’s inability to coach their team up like they did during the regular season.
Tim “The Greatest Human Being On Earth” Tebow was the MVP of the game, throwing for 231 yards with 2 touchdowns. Tebow also rushed for another 109 yards as he again and again showed a will to win that might just match Michael Jordan’s famous inner drive. It was in the fourth quarter, however, where Tebow’s true brilliance took over–especially during the Gators final touchdown drive where Tebow was six for six passing, including the touchdown jump-pass to David Nelson.
It was vintage Tebow and guess what? We have the video to prove it:
While Tebow’s heroics is getting the majority of the press, the Gator defense is getting its fair share, and rightfully so. When you hold the most prolific offense in D1 history to 14 total points–their worst scoring output of the year by 21 points–you deserve all the credit you receive; even if the team you are playing against helps your cause with poor goal line decision-making.
Nevertheless, to the victor goes the spoils (and the mythical National Champions designation). Maybe one day, your children’s children will get to see the entire crowning process decided solely on the field and not by computers and college presidents who care more about bottom lines than the concept of fairness in sports.
