what's up Bigsby? your assessment is correct, especially the part about "Kansas... WTF?" :) But, you can only beat who's in front of you and that's just what Kansas did.

After watching KU handle OK State Saturday, I actually do believe this team is pretty damn good. All year long I have been saying to myself "Kansas..WTF!". But this team is pretty solid. Marcus Henry ( 8 catches for 199 yds and 3 TDs) just dissected the Cowboys' secondary at will. And don't look now but Todd Reesing is putting up some Heisman type numbers ( 26 TDs against only 4 INTs and almost 2700 yds). If this team can get past Mizzou and, I assume Oklahoma, they might be playing LSU for the national title.

that's the problem with football programs like KU and UK: we are and always will be known as "basketball schools". seasons like this are considered anomalies and it's up to the respective coaching staffs to maintain their success over a year-to-year basis. we also have to recruit against the traditional schools for talent, something that's not ever easy because the rest of the Big 12 and SEC is already established.

it should be a fun next few weekends for KU. but the jury is out as to whether or not this is the start of something big or a flash in the pan, much like UK's recent football success. plus, the Big 12 North isn't that good anymore. ;)

KU reverts to 'Old Habits'?!? And I quote, from Mangino's bio "Prior to his arrival in Lawrence, Mangino was one of the primary architects in the rebuilding process at both Oklahoma (1999-01) and Kansas State (1991-98). As assistant head coach and offensive coordinator under Bob Stoops at OU, the Sooner staff took a program that was 5-6 in 1998 and carved out seasons of 7-5 (1999), 13-0 (2000) and 10-2 (2001)."

"Mangino was the recipient of the 2000 Frank Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in college football in the second of his three seasons as assistant head coach/offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Oklahoma."

What has happened to KState and OU since his departure? We're not going anywhere but up. We are building a dynasty here!

well, whenever UK does inspire that kind of reaction, they wind up losing to teams like Mississippi State...

Rick Majerus, is that you?

Someday Kentucky may achieve that level of football fanaticism.
