UCF Wide Receiver Dies During Conditioning Session

Ereck PlancherUniversity of Central Florida red-shirt freshman, Ereck Plancher, died after participating in conditioning drills with the team. The drills were being led by the coaching staff.

Ereck Plancher, of Naples, was pronounced dead shortly before noon Tuesday at a hospital, said Joe Hornstein, UCF’s associate athletic director for marketing and communications. He said Plancher took a knee, became unresponsive and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

“We’re still gathering some of that information at this point,” Hornstein said.

Plancher was from Naples, Florida. More details as they become available.
