Tiger Woods

Fans of golf cheered and opposing golfers no doubt felt a little tingle down their spine as the word about Tiger Woods’ return to the PGA Tour spread. Woods communicated his intentions to the rest of the world the way he normally does — through his website. His first match will be at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Marana, Arizona.

It’s Tiger’s first appearance on in a PGA event since his stunning victory at last year’s US Open. This also means we’ll get to find out if the “better than ever” rumors are true, but I’m pretty much expecting a Tiger victory either way. Can it really happen any other way with Woods? In case you forgot — yeah, right — here’s a reminder of what he did the last time he was on a golf course, playing for a trophy:

Oh, and that was on a broken leg and blown out knee. Surprisingly, he’s only getting 52% of the vote at ESPN’s current Poll of the Moment of the Day, which is surprising. Apparently, some voters aren’t sure if his knee is up to par (pun inten… ah, the hell with it); meaning some people really did forget what he’s capable of with one good leg.

The Accenture Championship starts next week, and will undoubtedly be one of the most-watched non-major tournaments, perhaps ever.

Hells yeah sucka!!! I can’t wait to see him play again. I’d be surprised if he were to win the Accenture but not shocked. I don’t think it’s gonna take him long to get back into the swing (npi) of things tho. And I’m gonna go ahead and say he’ll win 2 majors this year. Hazeltine (PGA Championship) is going to be a monster. I read the other day officials were saying that the greens would probably be running about 12.5-13 on the Stimpmeter! Can you say glass! And you remember his success at Bethpage (U.S. Open) a few years ago. Augusta’s always tough and The Open is at Turnberry. It’s gonna be a good year for golf. Let’s hope it’s a good year for MY golf game as well ;) I always seem to be inspired after I watch Eldrick bomb the ball. Sweeeet!!
