If there’s one thing the emergence of Cheyenne Woods proves, it’s that the apple doesn’t fall far from the genetic tree it initially inhabits. That’s right. Even Tiger’s relatives are better at golf than you are, especially Cheyenne Woods.

The niece of the golfer with the most famous ACL in the world has announced she will ply her amateur golf trade on a collegiate level for the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest University. Furthermore, Cheyenne Woods is not getting this recognition just because of her last name. She is also quite adept at the sport her uncle dominates, something her early wins indicate nicely — the American Junior Golf Association Nike Golf Junior tournament, the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships and the Big I Junior Classic.

Woods has already claimed two Kids Golf World championships.

Considering her potential and her namesake, it’s safe to say Cheyenne Woods’ career will be safeguarded by the folks at Nike, especially if she shows Women’s PGA potential. I can only imagine just how much they’ll feature her when she’s ready to turn pro. It’ll make Michelle Wie’s exposure seem pedestrian.
