For the governing body of French runners, get your steroid accusations ready: Lance Armstrong is going to run in the Boston Marathon, which takes place the day after a national holiday, April 21st. According to Reuters, the seven-time Tour de France champion qualified for the run with a time of 2:46.43 (2 hours 46 minutes and 43 seconds).
In Boston, cancer-survivor Armstrong will be raising money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which raises money for cancer prevention and care.
The Boston Marathon will be Armstrong’s third since he retired from cycling. I wonder if ESPN switched his bike out for a treadmill or if he’ll have a team of runners behind him, holding off the rest of the pack?
