Yes, Andy Pettitte addressed the media yesterday and it was about what everyone expected. Pettitte doesn’t consider himself a cheater, but if other folks think he’s lying and want to label him as such, he understands. From his perspective, it was always about trying to heal his body, which brings up an interesting point:
Isn’t an HGH-aided faster recovery time from pitching-related arm issues an unfair advantage in and of itself? Anyway, here’s ESPN’s video:
Of course, never the one to miss a media moment, Hank Steinbrenner defended his pitcher by saying the NFL has a larger steroid problem then MLB. Which prompted Sooze to tell Hank to Please Stop Talking; something we endorse as well. Projecting onto another, more popular sport won’t make Senator Mitchell go away.
In other news, Pettitte still refers to McNamee as his friend. Interesting.

Meh, Pettitte clammed up when he was asked if he misremembered his chats with Roger. That’s the only real question, aside from “Senator Mitchell, how grateful were you to luck into McNamee and Radomski to give your otherwise empty report some substance?”
