I’ve been thinking about how to do this wrap-up concerning the MLB/Congressional joy thrust upon us this morning: should I review what I learned or should I state where I stand after hearing what both sides had to say or should I say something about this hearing turned into a “toe the party line” exhibition?
No to all of those. Instead, I’m going to leave you with what stood out the most to me:
Misremembering.
That’s right. That’s the word Clemens used to describe Pettitte’s recollection of the events being discussed; as in, “Mr. Clemens, you realize Mr. Pettitte’s testimony corroborates Mr. McNamee’s, don’t you?” “Honored Congressperson, it is my testimony that Mr. Pettitte misremembers the events he’s speaking of; however, he is still my friend.”
So there you have it. After four-plus hours of steroids and HGH, misremembering is what stood tall… Well, that and Under Armor All.
We must do this again really, really soon.

You do realize “misremembering” is an actual word… SEE!

It’s very obtuse… and I didn’t say it wasn’t. Besides, most people say “memory was wrong” or something along those lines…

Well…it is what it is.
