A Sad Day In Boston

Manny and Papi

Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz tested dirty, and the entire Red Sox nation — including Bill Simmonsseems crushed. The fear is the two World Series titles are tainted. Naturally, Dan Shaughnessy has gone into damage control.

And now, the keyboard cat is playing Ortiz off.

That’s what happens when righteous indignation is met with a hypocrisy. As I said, it’s a sad day in Boston. About Shaughnessy’s response — if Manny tested positive before 2004, and was then again linked to PEDs only a few months ago, are we to believe he stopped whatever it was he was doing when the Red Sox started winning? Is anyone actually willing to take such a leap in logic? Boston fans included?

It’s really a shame because Ortiz has won over so many fans with his affable demeanor and passion for the game. Hopefully he’ll be upfront about everything.
