Maybe He Doesn’t Like European Basketball

Loren Woods

After trying his hand at the NBA, former University of Arizona beanpole Loren Woods is playing professionally in Europe, although, I’m not sure he’s enjoying his time away from the United States.

I’m not sure how you explain what’s going through his head after watching this:

Maybe he’s mad he didn’t make it in the NBA and decided to take it out on his European competition or maybe he just likes to try out his long wingspan. Ball in Europe indicates the team he plays for — Zalgiris Kaunas — isn’t the most pay-friendly team in the world, meaning Mr. Woods doesn’t think it is funny when people messes with his money.

D.O.C. lyrics aside, Woods troubles should serve as a counterpoint to the Brandon Jennings story. If you aren’t one of the super studs coming out of high school, you could very well wind up on a team that isn’t afraid to short their players when financial trouble hits.
