LeBron Says “No 360s” to J-Rich

A quick break from the March Insanity (thanks again, Syracuse and UConn) for some NBA action:

Some folks are calling for the foul here. Whatever. I’ll simply call it what my first reaction told me — one of the best blocks I’ve ever seen. Did LeBron get Jason Richardson across the wrist? From where I’m watching (and I watched that block a dozen times already this morning), if he did, it was not a blatant or obvious as some other folks are making it out to be.

LeBron Block

Looking at the freeze frame above, it looks like LeBron’s hand will come down on the ball and not J-Rich’s wrist. Furthermore, the way Richardson’s arms did not move after the block was made — see how Rudy Fernandez’ arm moves when Ariza hits it — indicates “clean block.” At least to me it does.

Oddly enough, that was not the best block of the night, according to those in the NBA who make these decisions. No, that honor went to LeBron’s block of Leandro Barbosa.

I say the J-Rich block was a billion times better, but again, apparently, that’s just me.
