NBA Cheerleader Goings On

While the eye candy posts have largely disappeared, we’re not completely above gratuity. Take, for instance, the NBA offseason. It’s not just a time to sign the Hedo Turkoglus of the world, folks. The respective cheerleading teams need to be restocked as well. With that in mind, Mike Hayes has informed us of a quasi-Survivor theme going down at the Knicks cheerleader tryouts. The Knicks City Dancers are down to their 30 finalists, but the next round is going to involve some fan voting for the prize of immunity.
The concept is simple: vote for the cheerleader you least want to see eliminated. While Mike and I have made our choices apparent — Me with Amanda R. and Mike with Amy. Naturally, Mike’s choice is more popular than mine, but I digress. — you too can help decide the fate of the free world as well by voting for whichever Knicks City Dancer hopeful strikes your fancy.
Over in Philadelphia, the selection of the new cheerleading team isn’t as fancy or Web 2.0 as the Knicks, but there is highlight footage; and sometimes, footage is all you need.
For me, hopeful 156 tends to stand out. And that, friends, is just one of the ways we’ll make it through the long offseason.

Your choice is one of the captains, doubtful she needs any votes to make the team

If this post wasn’t from LAST YEAR, I’d say you’d have a more valid point.
