Put Me Down For 168

So says the Denver Nuggets, who at 40-26, are in danger of missing the playoffs because of just how competitive the NBA’s Western Conference is. Meanwhile, the 28-38 Atlanta Hawks — a team that is 8-25 on the road — is tied for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. And Commissioner David Stern says we don’t need a re-seeding process…
I mean, there’s nothing like making sure the best 16 teams are in the NBA Playoffs right? What would be the fun in that?
Anyway, the Nuggets put on an incredible display of offensive power last night against the Seattle Sonics; scoring 48 point in the first quarter, en-route to an 84-point first half, surpassing Phoenix’s 80-point achievement. Three players scored over 20 points, while two more had 19. Oh yeah, Marcus Camby also had a triple-double. Just another night at the office, aye?
The game was punctuated by a vicious J.R. Smith dunk, which also won the NBA’s Dunk of the Night award:
No arguments here… All-in-all, not a bad night for a team that’s in jeopardy of missing the NBA Playoffs, right Commissioner Stern?

Those kind of numbers remind me of the Denver Nuggets of old. Most impressive.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Fire me Sonics and I took you to the finals. Which you haven’t seen since Lenny Wilkens days. I’m gonna put it on you in the worst way.
Sonics retort: That’s alright My. Karl, how’s that deadly combo working out for you? A.I. and Melo = NO Playoffs

[...] when the Nuggets put on ridiculous scoring displays, they still aren’t playing defense worth a lick… not a good sign with the NBA Playoffs [...]
