Your comment pointed out something to me: how is Andrew Bynum going to improve Kobe's offensive chances when people are seeing how to guard him? Sure it gives him another warm body to pass to, but explosive players like Kobe need a swing-man running mate to take some of the pressure off of him. Someone like a Scottie Pippen perhaps.
