Bengals Say “See Ya” To Chris Henry

After continuing displays of unadulterated brilliance, the Bengals front office decided their cup was was overflowing with Chris Henry’s stupidity and so, they released him. After reading the summary of his incidents since becoming a Bengal, it’s incredibly surprising it took this long.
Mike Brown, president of the Bengals organization, had this to say:
“Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.“The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.
“But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team.”
The saddest thing about this whole Henry situation is, despite his incredible talents (some say he was the most talented of the trio that includes T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the unhappy Chad Johnson), he couldn’t or wouldn’t act right. No matter how many times he got into trouble.
Chris, here’s a little guide for your next endeavor, be it another NFL team (incredibly doubtful) or perhaps the Arena League:
* Don’t hit people in the face; in fact, just don’t hit people
* Don’t assault valet employees because they don’t know who you are
* Don’t contribute to the delinquency of minors
* No drinking and driving
* No fighting — with guns — while wearing your jersey out in public
* How about no fighting at all
* Minors are NOT your friend
* However, this doesn’t mean beat them up either
If you can comply with this list — even though it’s difficult for people to avoid these mishaps on a day-to-day basis — you might be able to salvage what’s left of your life… Unless, of course, you actually like being thrown in the pokey every few months.
Maybe that’s it. Maybe Henry has a fetish for jail cells and getting into trouble with his superiors.

No surprise here. When does Marvin Lewis get shown the door?

If it hasn’t happened by now, it ain’t gonna… not over personnel screw-ups, anyway.
