Favre Jets

The rudimentary image above me is harbinger of things to come — meaning, Brett Favre has been traded to the New York J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets. Considering where the story was initially headed (Tampa Bay), this is somewhat of a surprise. As of now, the compensation is expected to be a draft pick based on the performance of the Jets this upcoming season.

What does this do in the way of the AFC East? Can the newly Favre’d Jets knock off the Patriots? Do the Jets have the weapons to do so? Is this necessarily a better team than the Packers would’ve been with Brett? Hopefully, the trade will put Favre/Green Bay soap opera to bed.

Of course, we now have the impending New York media blitz to deal with, but at least it’s a new chapter. More tomorrow.

Ballhype: hype it up! Stumble it!

B-R-E-T! Brett! Brett! Brett! He’s got a good established receiving corp in Coles and Cotchery and with the edition of Marcus Henry out of KU (not UK-there is only one UK, thankin ya), I think he’ll have a great-ish season with the J-E-T-S. As a Jets fan, I’m pretty excited about this lil’ deal! Unfortunately, I would think Pennington is gone. That sucks but that’s foozball. The Jets’ website had Favre jerseys for sale 15 minutes after they announced that he was going to NY. I’m gonna sleep well tonight. RU?

Pennington is done for sure, but that might be a good thing for Chad. He can go somewhere else and maybe salvage part of his career.

I can’t wait for Brett to have a 3-pick day in the Meadowlands, the Monday sports pages at the Daily News will be absolutely frothing with rage, along with local sports radio too.
