Will Hines Get Fined Again?

Last week, Troy Polamalu made the news when he lambasted the NFL for its hair-trigger fine policy. A big part of Polamalu’s complaint had to do with fines Hines Ward received for laying some crushing blocks, none of which warranted an in-game penalty. After yesterday’s game against the hapless Bengals, it looks like the NFL might have some more ammunition to use against one of the best blocking receivers in the league.
Just ask Cincinnati linebacker Keith Rivers:
To quote Smokey from the first Friday movie, “You got knocked the **** out!!!”
Jokes aside, Ward’s crushing block was so severe, it broke Rivers’ jaw and very possibly put him out for the year. The next question is, should Ward be fined for delivering such a devastating hit or was Rivers just a victim of a clean-but-tough football play?
Oh and by the way, while many want to keep talking about the Detroit Lions, from where I’m sitting, the Bengals have secured their spot as the worst team in the NFL — at least for this week. Yes the Lions are the worst team in the league during the first quarter, but after that, at least they can score points.
What, exactly, have the Bengals done to make anyone think they play better football than what Detroit is offering?

three 500 seasons and a playoff seem like a dynasty compared to the lions

This is true. I can’t imagine which team gets a win first. Of course, this could be a race to the number one overall pick in next year’s draft…

if i was predicted to go 1 or 2 i would intentionally mess up at the combine to avoid being taken by either

I just hope the Bengals are smart enough to draft someone like Brian Orakpo from Texas. Either that or an offensive lineman. Anyone of these guys should suffice:
