After posting one of the better individual afternoons in the NFL in a while, I have one thing to say to Ronnie Brown, he of the four rushing touchdowns (and one passing!!!!) against the not-so-stout Patriots defense: I hate you. Not really and all that but come on, no one started you in their fantasy league yesterday — only 22 percent in all of Yahoo — so what do you do to pay them back? You decide to give your best LaDainian Tomlinson impression and lo and behold, it was probably better than the real thing.
At least this season, anyway.
Naturally, after posting about 40 fantasy points (which just about outscored my entire pathetic Yahoo team), I’m sure your starting percentage will improve exponentially next week. Of course, by then, Tony Sparano will undoubtedly change the way he uses you, switching the Wild Hog attack so that it focuses on Ricky Williams instead. So once again, thanks for your touchdown explosion which tied you for the league lead. I’ll be sure to remember that when I’m setting next week’s roster up.
Now it’s up to you to duplicate that performance.
Speaking of, what’s your guess on the over/under for Ronnie Brown’s touchdown total by the end of the year? He currently has five, meaning now that everyone will be starting him next week, his total will probably top out at seven — unless you trade him or drop him. If you do that, he’ll score at least ten more while rubbing coarse sea salt all over the wound that is poor fantasy management.
In other news, who knew the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick could be beaten using Houston Nutt’s Wild Hog attack he popularized once again with Felix Jones and Darren McFadden at Arkansas? I thought gimmick college offenses are attempts at failure in the NFL, especially against a mad genius like Belichick.
Where are your adjustments at, Bill? Is your defense too old?
