Evidently, 2006 was a long, long time ago.
Currently, Huard is listed as questionable with a neck injury, but his playing status was not the reason given for Thigpen’s promotion. The announcement simply said Thigpen would get the nod. Essentially, this says the coaching staff feels, even though Huard’s had success with the franchise in the past, the far less experienced Tyler Thigpen gives them a better chance of winning.
I’m not sure if the the Chiefs fans agree:
Poor Tyler Thigpen. He needs to pull a Haggans and move to receiver full time. Watching Thiggy Smalls play quarterback is like listening to Ashlee Simpson sing live.
Of course, they aren’t too high on Huard either.
The quarterback situation is so bad in KC, fans are calling for either Mike Vick or Brady Quinn (the site renders like crap in Firefox) to come rescue their team.

I don’t know why everyone hate on Thigpen much. I have been more impressed with his on the field performance. I would prefer him getting a interception earlier in the game, but I’ll take a guy who can make a touchdown pass even if he throws interceptions. In fact, there is a pretty good QB who holds a record for interception, but is praised for his touchdown record. Anyways, the Cheif fans need to shut up and route for what they have, and not what they never will. May I remind everyone that Damon Huard has more int, even though he had more time with the starting team. It is stupid that people cry about this team…
