Olympic Stuff

What should be one of the first things you think of when the Olympics comes up? The Michael Phelps gold rush? That’s for trend followers. Usain Bolt running so fast it looks like he’s flying? Save that crap for the NFL scouts trying to find another Willie Gault.

No, if you are watching the Olympics and you are male, your primary concern is getting to see as many attractive women athletes as you can — you know, because of all the variety — or at least it should be. There are just so many to see. And by “so many,” I mean a lot.

Various sports blogs — places like The Sports Hernia, With Leather, Epic Carnival and Busted Coverage just to name a few — have done a great job of documenting these attractive ladies and because of their efforts, we know all about the Stephanie Rices, Alicia Sacramones and Leryn Francos (yowza!!!) of the world. But because there are just so many, it’s hard to be comprehensive in this endeavor.

Therefore, I’m adding my two-cents to help make this sometimes-ugly sports world a prettier place. And with that, we are officially off. Introducing:

Fatima Moreira de Melo

Fatima Moreira de Melo

After looking at these pictures, I’m beginning to think Fatima Moreira de Melo is simply using the Netherlands field hockey program to keep her figure like that, something I stand behind, wholeheartedly. I’m sure she’s a fine Olympian, but damn, she takes some really hot pictures as well.

There’s a lot more Fatima where the above image came from.

Agnieszka Bednarek

Agnieszka Bednarek Agnieszka Bednarek Agnieszka Bednarek

I was first introduced the Agnieszka Bednarek when the US Women’s Volleyball team was playing Poland and boy, I’m absolutely glad I watched. Agnieszka has a tricky serve and a vicious spike. I guess the strong legs and backside assist her volleyball career greatly — much like my viewing enjoyment when she was on the television. Alas, it’s back to relative obscurity for Agnieszka now that Poland’s run is over.

What a damn shame that is.

Denisa Ščerbová

Denisa Scerbova Denisa Scerbova

Next up is Denisa Ščerbová of the Czech Republic. Denisa is a track athlete who specializes in the long jump. She was also gracious enough to be in the feature image at the top of the post. Nice midsection, by the way. According to her Wiki, Denisa’s “life partner” is this guy, which means the phrase isn’t just for gay couples.

Who knew?

Tania Cagnotto

Tania Cagnotto Tania Cagnotto

Tania Cagnotto is a diver for the Italian team and in her spare time, apparently, she’s an upstanding member of the Italian police force. I wonder if she felt like arresting the judges while she was competing? Human error aside, apparently, I’m not the only one who’s noticed her. Someone actually bought her name in .com form. Nicely done.

On top of being an elegant diver and a hard-nosed cop, Tania also rocks the tramp stamp — a bonus in these parts.

Agata Korc

Agata Korc Agata Korc

Obviously, the Polish Olympic team is the one to party with if you are looking for attractive athletes to hang out while chilling in the Olympic Village. Joining the Polish fun is swimmer Agata Korc. Agata is really attractive but because she didn’t win her specialty (freestyle), there weren’t many interested viewers who got to see her and that’s really sad. Good thing IF is here.

One last word on Agata — whoever is in this picture with her is one lucky SOB.

Eloise Amberger

Eloise Amberger

As a synchronized swimmer for Australia, Eloise Amberger, is certainly easy on the eyes, in the water or out. I’m sure she leaves audiences pretty captivated with her rhythmic, fluid movements and her flexibi… Wait, what? I’m think I’m digressing — back to the point: Eloise is hot. Of course, it helps when you have a little Minka Kelly in you.

And she certainly looks the part.

Tonia Couch

Tonia Couch

Tonia Couch is a 19-year old British diver who’s also incredibly hot (imagine that with her being on this list). I don’t think I knew they made them like that in England, and I lived there for 12 years. Seeing how she’ll probably be around British athletics for a while and considering her made-for-cameras look, it’s doubtful Tonia will fall far from the public’s eye, especially in Britain.

If she does, she can always get herself a soccer-playing boyfriend and become an even more famous for being a WAG.

Priscilla Lopes-Schliep

Priscilla Lopes-Schliep

Who says Canada can’t produce athletes? If you think that, you better not talk to Priscilla Lopes-Schliep, the bronze medal-winning 100-meter hurdler. And for those of you seeing the Hispanic-sounding Lopes name, Priscilla was born in Scarborough, Canada; meaning she’s a native and not a naturalized Olympian. Priscilla is graced with a nice smile, great abs and an awesome, well, awesome lower portion of her body.

Considering she’s only 26, we might get to see her again in 2012 — although, she may just consider her Olympic bronze the pinnacle of her track and field career and call it a day. Here’s hoping not.

Rita Dravucz

Rita Dravucz

Rita Dravucz plays Water Polo for the Hungarians in the Olympics and in her off time, she dabbles in modeling — quite well I might add. It’s always nice to have options. And to be photogenic.

This leads us to our last entry for this post. Introducing:

Blanka Vlasic

Blanka Vlasic

We’re going to end this little masterpiece with some controversy — folks are probably more familiar with high-jumper Blanka Vlasic the rest of the athletes in this post and that’s all right. She brings debate to the table. The reason for the controversy has to do with Blanka’s non-traditional look. Some think she’s hot, some don’t.

Different strokes and all that.

I, for one, will never complain about Blanka’s astoundingly long-and-lean body. For those of you wanting to scream “butterface,” all I can say is her face complements her body quite nicely; and that gives you an incredibly attractive, long-legged, flexible, high-jumping package that only the foolish would turn down.

Plus she has a Joker smile, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that (nor the double-negative I just used). Still in Beijing? Grab some Olympics tickets from Ticket Solutions and see the final ceremonies!

I now see the necessity to get the backside shot of Blanka Vlasic and NOT the front.

  2. Chris Says:

Why the long face? OK, OK. Low blow. I can see why some folks would consider Blanka to be a b-face, but I just think it fits together in a nice long, lean package.

Considering a lot of these girls are Slavic, I’m not sure “Anglo” is the right term. However, my post was in no way a disrespect to Allyson Felix or anyone else I might have missed.
