Michael Phelps Loses?!?!?

Is this a sign of the coming apocalypse? Should we head for fallout shelters? Is that pestilence I’m hearing outside my window? It must be because Michael Phelps lost today. That’s right. For the first time in four years, the all-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, lost in a major championship as he was beaten by Germany’s Paul Biedermann in the 200-meter freestyle. Watch the video if you don’t believe me. Not only did Biedermann beat the unbeatable Phelps, he did so in world record fashion. The record holder he displaced? Once again, it was Phelps, whose previous record time was 1:42.96.
Biedermann’s winning time was 1:42.00.
As indicated, it’s the first Phelps loss since Ian Crocker beat him at the 100 free in 2005. I’m guessing it was all those Subway subs that did him in.
