It's not about medals here either. Phelps was all over the news and sports world that he had a shot at EIGHT GOLD medals. I don't have to tell you that is one hell of a feat. Don't care if it was relays or swim different variations. Of course different variations helps my retort. Sure Bolt got our attention after we heard about how he slowed up and could have destroyed the record. Bolt needed the hype that Phelps got to even compete for Sportsman of the year.
