I think it’s safe to say the 2008 version of Team USA’s Men’s Basketball has found themselves as a team and aren’t afraid to flex their rapidly growing muscles against their opponents. After a feeling out process that began during exhibition games in China and continued for the first couple of games of Olympic play, the Redeem Team is starting to smash their competition. Just ask Germany and Spain.

After undressing the Spanish Saturday morning — more on this in another post — Team USA jumped on the Germans (and Chris Kaman) today with a 18-3 run and never looked back. The final score was indicative of just how dominant LeBron and the gang were: 106-57. What’s even more impressive was just how original Dream Team-esque the 49-point victory was.

Next up for the white-hot Team USA are the quarterfinals and the only team that gave them a close game, the Australians; who were playing without one of their best players, NBA-er Andrew Bogut, who is expected to play on Wednesday.

Although, the way the Redeemers are playing, it doesn’t look like Bogut’s presence will matter too much.
