All of us who can’t soar about the ten-foot rim, Michael Jordan-style, have, at one time or another, lived out our aerial fantasies on basketball goals with lowered rims. When I was in Plattsburgh, we had a 3/4 court that featured eight-foot rims and we would spend hours out there acting out dunk contests and playing full-court dunkathon games.

And we loved it. Of course, sometimes a lowered rim gives you delusions of grandeur and you’ll attempt something that isn’t within your realm of abilities, even on a lowered rim. The difference between then and now? We didn’t have the Internet to immortalize our stupidity… unlike this unfortunate young ‘un below:

Wow, that was just horrible… although, the non-dunking head-cracker probably could’ve submitted his failure to Rudy Gay. Maybe he could do this some justice, no?

Hat-tips are in order to Tasty Booze, Epic Carnival and College Humor.

Nice find, fellas.

Ballhype: hype it up! Stumble it!
