Tim Tebow is the getting a lot of attention as the world of college football watchers prepares for Saturday night’s SEC heavyweight fight when the LSU Tigers invade the Swamp to play the Florida Gators. Among the topics being discussed are his transition from sophomore to junior — he has regressed from last year’s Heisman-winning campaign — and whether or not the quarterback you’d most want your daughter to marry can ply his trade in the NFL.

In Baton Rouge, Florida’s quarterback is also the topic of discussion, especially for defensive stud Ricky Jean-Francois. The man-mountain can’t wait to get a shot at Tebow:

“If we get a good shot on [Tebow], we’re going to try our best to take him out of the game,” Jean-Francois said. “With his size and his heart, it’s hard to get a clean shot.”

When asked how Tebow might deal with the pain of the perfect LSU hit, Jean-Francois said, “If he does get hurt, there’s a trained medical staff at Florida, so you can go to the training room on Sunday.”

Florida is looking for some payback after letting last year’s game in Baton Rouge slip away. Florida led at the half, 17-7 and 24-14 at the end of the third quarter. The Gators wound up losing 28-24 in a game that saw LSU go five-for-five on fourth down conversions. If they are to get their revenge, obviously protecting Tebow is paramount — although, if his throwing troubles continue, it might not matter if the Tigers take him out or not.

In other LSU news, redshirt freshman Jarret Lee will get the starting nod for LSU but Andrew Hatch is expected to play as well.
